oh this humdrum life

Reading a friend's blog recently and seeing how she's suffering from what i call the post-exchange syndrome reminded me of what i hated about coming back to Singapore more than a year ago.

Instead of rolling down hills, climbing on top human pyramids and randomly joining strangers dancing on the street, here i am straitjacketed into the monotonous repetition of school, church and the occasional meetup with friends over dinner.

In the words of a former colleague who was also describing her own lacklustre life: "i've stopped wandering and wondering, stopped seeking and experiencing first-times, stopped marvelling at the vastness of this world and the opportunities there are out there."

i want to be excited and freeeee once more.
