It hadn't occurred to me that 10 days was a particularly long time to spend in india, until i came back feeling kind of strange that people around me were all so fair and also this sense of liberation that i (finally!) am not bathing with a bucket and a pail anymore.
Of course, it doesn't help that my stomach, which had been perfectly fine during the trip, has decided to detox itself - meaning constant trips to the toilet and no appetite at all (even choc doesn't work. imagine that!).
Still, the past 10 days had been an experience of a lifetime.
True, there was frustration and desperation over a story which was (and is?) so not working out, toes that were inevitably stepped on when work comes into the picture, and tempers which flared when people of different habits and personalities stay together for too long.
But through all this, relationships were forged. Sharing tears over a particularly frustrating issue, laughter over second degree burns (erhem internal joke), and joy over dirt-cheap books sure bonded new and old friendships.
Not to mention being led on a wild goose chase to buy a cake (which became two cookies. haha) so as to celebrate a friend's birthday, only to be surprised by a combined birthday celebration with a cake and cards for the both of us that night!
To top it all off, the crazy Urbanite and red-shirted My Paper cover-boy actually came to the airport to meet us early in the morning.
Thanks everyone! You guys rock :)
